Hong Leong Asset Management Bhd (“HLAM”) received two awards at the recent annual The Edge | Thomson Reuters Lipper awards ceremony1; namely, Best Equity Award – Malaysia Provident for the Company and Best Equity Malaysia – Malaysia Provident, 3 Years for Hong Leong Penny Stock Fund (“Penny Stock Fund”).

Penny Stock Fund delivered consistently strong risk-adjusted returns relative to its peers – making it a star winner under its category with a 23.89% return during the 3-year period ending 31 December 20162.
Looking ahead, HLAM is positive on the Malaysian market outlook and advises investors to stay invested and exercise prudent diversification across various asset classes. The Company also favours sectors that may benefit from potential government pump-priming such as the consumer and construction sectors.
HLAM funds are distributed nationwide through its agency force and appointed Institutional Unit Trust Advisers, with Hong Leong Bank Berhad being the main distributor. As of 31 January 2017, the Company manages 17 unit trust funds, 5 wholesale funds and tailor-made private mandates with a total Assets Under Management of RM12.51 billion.
